6th January 2016, latest military reports from Somalia reveal that KDF convoy was targeted on the Wednesday IED blast near Afmadow town.
According to resident eyewitnesses speaking on anonymity said that Kenyan military convoy missed the IED by a whisker.
The huge landmine blast near Afmadow town of Lower Jubba region targeted KDF troop’s convoy as it passed Tabta village headed to Qoqani town.
No casualties reported and no group has yet claimed responsibility of the attack on KDF army convoy though such roadside IEDs attacks are linked to the Al Qaeda affiliated jihadist Al Shabaab who target KDF soldiers as well as other AMISOM forces in Somalia.
