Police in Garissa have arrested a man believed to have been involved in Baure, Lamu Al Shabaab attack.
The militant Abshir Mursal was captured by police in a Wajir bound bus that had earlier left Dadaab refugee camp. Abshir Mursal was born and brought up in Wajir.
The militant confessed to be in the group that attacked a military camp in Lamu that left 2 army officers dead. The foiled attack foiled left 11 Al Shabaab dead with others fleeing with gun wounds.
Abshir Mursal claims to have joined the Somali based jihadist group, the Al Shabaab three years ago where he was trained in assembling of improvised bombs (IEDs).
The self-confessed militant is under heavy security guard as investigation by Anti-terrorism police unit (ATPU) to establish his claims kicks off. His arrests came shortly after another suspected militant with gun injuries was arrested Saturday in Voi trying to seek for medical assistance.
