Somali based jihadists groups has tried severally to attack on African Union Base in Mogadishu. The militant group launched a series of suicide attacks on the African Union base in Somalia, government establishments as well as security bases in Somalia.
The attacks have however been reported by OSINT sources to result in no casualties on the side of the government as the attackers lose their lives in the suicide missions.
- On Friday June 26th 2015, a car bomb rammed into the AU base in Leego, Mogadishu. This was followed by heavy exchange of gunfire. No casualties were reported.
- On Wednesday June 24th 2015, the Al Shabaab militants targeted military instructors from the United Arab Emirates.
- On Sunday June 21st 2015 militants stormed a national intelligence agency training site. Four militants were killed in the detonation of the bomb.
Acting on prior intelligence, more security has been deployed during the holy month. This has helped thwart numerous attacks from the militant group, who had planned to carry out more deadly attacks during Ramadan.
