The Prime Minister of Somali Federal government Hassan Ali Khaire inspected several Police posts in Mogadishu to evaluate the capability of the police to deal with heightened security ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
The prime minister was accompanied by police commander-in-chief general Bashir Abdi Mohamed, Minister for Security and other officials as he paid an assessment visit to the city’s security checkpoints. Moreover, the visit was part of the efforts to boost the collaboration between the security agencies of the Somali government and evaluate the work of the law enforcement officers.
PM Khaire has praised the work of the security agencies as they conduct routine operations across the capital on a mission to avert possible Al-Shabaab attacks during Ramadan.
Security agencies have been put on high alert especially in Mogadishu with additional security checkpoint erected to avert any attacks by the al Shabaab and ISIS on civilians and security agency targets.
