- KDF backed Jubbaland Forces foiled an Al Shabaab militant terrorist attack on Somali National Army (SNA) Academia Military Post outside Kismayu.
- 9 Al Shabaab militants were killed in the operation.
- Earlier, Al Shabaab militants had conducted an attack killing 7 Somali army soldiers.
OSINT sources indicate that in the aftermath of the heavy fire exchange between the KDF backed Jubbaland Forces and the Al Shabaab militants, a vigilante operation has been launched to counter any possible attacks.
As a result, several dozens of suspected individuals linked to the terror group have been netted for interrogation.
KDF troops’ presence in war torn Somalia is paramount to help SNA win the advances from the terrorist group who are eying the rich port of Kismayu.
