Somali President called upon religious leaders to help stop Al-Shabaab propaganda, misinformation and stop Al-Shabaab agendas.
He pointed out that the government of Somali has increased his efforts all around the country to stop young people from joining Al-Shabaab fighters and cooperation with the religious leaders would be extremely beneficial to the fight against terrorism.
During President Mohamed’s meeting with top religious leaders, he insisted the country needs to fix all conditions that make it easy for Al-Shabaab to promote their agendas.
Further, he asked the religious leaders to cement their relationship with members of the public to avert Al-Shabaab from penetrating mosques from recruitment.He pointed out that terrorists take advantage of disconnect between religious leaders and the public hence the need to close the gap.
This cooperation between the government and the religious leaders would be fundamental for the annihilation of the terrorists and their ideologies.
