Somali police foiled an improvised explosive devices (IED) attack in Bosaso, a town in the northeastern semi-autonomous region of Puntland that was targeted at security forces.
In a statement police confirmed to have successfully removed the bomb device after they receive an alert from the public.
The police ordinance team defused the IED that was planted on a major road commonly used by security forces.
Bosaso has seen frequently deadly explosions, with most of those attacks were claimed by either Al Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab or ISIS faction operation in the country’s northern region.
