Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that Somali National Army (SNA) raided Al-Shabaab terrorists taking a key village near the town of Jowhar, southern Somalia.
SNA poured it forces in Madah-Kisi village which is located in the outskirt of Jowhar and engaged Al-Shabaab terrorists in a fierce fire fight on Tuesday 9th August 2016.
Jowhar is a strategic town which serves as the provincial capital of Middle Shabelle and Al-Shabaab has not completely been weeded out.
Initial BDA indicates that the terrorists tried to put up a stiff resistance, subsequently many were killed while others fled after being overpowered. Unspecified civilian casualties caught in combat also reported.
SNA forces managed to regain full control of the area with troop’s presence reported conducting patrols.
