Somali National Army (SNA) killed eight (8) Al-Shabaab militants after a close battle at Daynunay area, about 30kilometers east of Baidoa town in Bay region of Somalia.
According to SNA Commander of the 60 Division in Bay region, Ismail Khalif Shire, the army successfully foiled an attack from Al-Shabaab fighters in the general area. He also confirmed that one government soldier was killed in the line of duty.
Al-Shabaab which thrive on propaganda through its pro-websites claimed to have captured Daynuney from the government and partner forces.
