Somali National Army military chief Abdullah Sheikh Mohamed has confirmed to Somali media outlets that the army captured Al Shabaab base in Diinsor, killing 4 militants.
Heavily armemed SNA troops attacked Gurban area, 30Km away from Diinsoor town in the Bay region Wednesday killing 4 militants.
Summary
There is calm in Gurban village after Al shabaab was defeated in the fighting and the Government troops are in full control of the area. Militants had taken control of the village for a couple of months.
The latest development on war against Al Shabaab adds to the several gains that a combined effort of troops are making against the militants.
So far, SNA has a backing of the AMISOM troops whose stay in Somalia has seen the country’s military win several wars against the militants.
The recently formed Galmudug administration has also come out strongly to wage war against the militants. In only two days, the forces had taken control of two villages from the Al Shabaab militants.
The newly formed forces of the Interim administration of Galmudug managed to battle out Al Shabaab fighters taking full control of Amara village located in the southern Mudug region. Militants had terrorized the village for two weeks.
Only a day afterwards, Galmudug forces also advanced to Al Shabaab hideouts in Madug.
