Kenya Ministry of Defence has launched an initiative dubbed ‘Defence Dialogue Series’ aimed at demystifying Kenya Defence Forces helping the public identify with KDF.
The programme will engage top military official who will visit all the counties hosting military institutions holding installation workshops that are geared toward strengthening ties between the county governments and the KDF.
Defence Cabinet Secretary Amb Raychelle Omamo announced the initiative in a courtesy call to the Nakuru County. Nakuru County is home to several military institutions with the relations between them and the public improving in the recent years.
KDF’s presence in different counties has over years aided in disaster and conflict management, el Nino, el Nina preparedness, re-afforestation and afforestation processes as well as general infrastructure management. In recent years, they have improved the counties’ vigilance against terrorism and terror related crimes.
Defence Dialogue Series will both in the short and long term influence cordial and mutually beneficial relations between the KDF and the native communities of the counties that house military institutions.
