Somali military forces received another batch of vehicles from Turkey in an effort aim to boost it capability to fight the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab.
The Turkish government has donated military vehicles that included trucks and ambulances among other equipment. The assets donated will be used by Somali troops trained by Turkey.
Somalia senior army officials thanked the Turkish government for the support accorded in terms of donation of military hardware and troops’ training in an effort at boosting the country’s army capability to fight against Al-Shabaab.
The Turkish government announced an aid of 30 million US dollars for Somalia on August 5.
