
Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that security forces nabbed 8 Al-Shabaab suspects in Somali’s capital Mogadishu.
According to National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) spokesman Abdikamil Mo'allim Shukri security forces launched operations targeting special areas including garages, hideouts in Hodan, Kahda, Wadajir and Yakshid districts and arrested the suspects.
The named localities falls in Benadir region which recently has witnessed terrorist attacks.
"We recovered weapons and vehicles from garages, we arrested 8 terrorist suspects in connection with the latest terrorist incidents and they are being questioned at moment," Shukri said.
Shukri also noted that Somali forces and AU forces conducted operations in Warta-Nabbada and Hamar-Jadid districts on Saturday and Sunday nights.
The security sweep came hours after deadly assassinations orchestrated by Harakat al Shabaab al Mujahideen fighters in Somali’s capita Mogadishu which left five government security officers killed.
