Somali Army forces carried out security sweep in the capital Garowe earlier in the week and arrested several Al-Shabaab operatives.
Corresponding reports from locals indicate that security forces conducted house to house search flushing over 27 terror suspects and individuals. During the operative small arms and weapons including hand made bombs, jihadist flags and materials were recovered.
Separately two Al-Shabaab suspects were arrested Wednesday by security forces in Garowe after they attempted to sneak into the town through a vehicle transporting livestock.
The detained were taken to the investigative department of NISA for questioning.
