SNA Repulses Attack In Qoryooley, Lower Shabelle Dozen Al Shabaab Killed

Somali National Army has repelled a major attack in Qoryooley on Monday night following an attempted overrun of the town. Military sources said that the troops were able to chase the militants out of the town after gunfire clashes.

Dozens of al Shabaab militants were killed by the troops, several weapons and a vehicle was recovered from the insurgents.

Residents confirmed fighting had ended and that the militants had left the town. Al Shabaab carries out frequent attacks on security and government targets and the African Union peacekeeping troops after losing large swathes of territory in Somalia.
