Somali National Army (SNA) backed up by allied AMISOM troops have taken control of Daynuunaye areas of Bay region in Somalia from al Qaeda affiliated al Shabaab militants.
Daynuunaye town had been under the control of al Shabaab for a few weeks and is approximately 26 km to Baidoa the city center of Bay region
General Ibrahim Yarow, the force commander of the 60th Division has maintained that the region seized from Al-Shabaab is safe and secure under the control of SNA and Ethiopian contingent under AMISOM.
The troops who are currently in control of Daynuunaye town have set a base to stay and cover the area from the Al-Shabaab come back.
