Somali National Army (SNA) supported by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have intensified operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists in south and central Somalia.
According to AMISOM Force Spokesperson, Col. Joe Kibet and referenced by Somali National News Agency (SONNA), SNA and AMISOM will continue to carry out joint anti-terrorist operations until the Al-Shabaab threat is dealt with and liberate the terrorists from the remaining pockets in south and central Somalia.
The joint operations also aimed to beef up security during parliamentary and presidential election here in Somalia.
“There is always challenge, but AMISOM forces in collaboration with SNA provide security environment for the elections, the operations continues, it did not stop, but new operations will start soon”, Joe Kibet said.
Col. Joe Kibet remarks came as Somalia is holding elections on this month.
