Pentagon has confirmed that U.S. airstrikes conducted on September 28 in Somalia’s Galkayo area killed 10 local militias.
Pentagon had initially believed that their airstrikes had killed Al-Shabaab terrorists but later confirmed the 10 killed were local fighters in semi-autonomous northern region of Galmudug which has be experiencing clashes.
Somalia’s government had request for an explanation from the United States over the air strikes.
