February 29, 2016, Military reports from Somalia indicate that SNA supported by AMISOM forces made gains over Al-Shabaab militant group near the strategic town of Jowhar.
SNA and AMISOM troops made advances and raided an Al-Shabaab training camp in Humey area.
Humey is a rural villages strategically located between Biyo Adde and Qordhere areas near Jowhar town, the regional capital of Middle Shabelle.
Final casualty data of the raid has not been established but the initial military BDA indicate Al-Shabaab suffered huge loss citing the training camp was destroyed, explosives and other weaponry were seized. Over two dozen Al-Shabaab fighters killed.
Al-Shabaab has waged insurgency in the horn of African Nation since 2008 in a bid to topple the Western –backed Federal government of Somalia and impose strict version of Islamist version or Sharia.
