On Tuesday 27th September 2016 evening, Somalia National Army (SNA) and African Union Peacekeeping Mission (AMISOM) troops nabbed three terrorist suspects from the main market, Bakaro in Mogadishu in a joint operation.
Abdikamil Moalim Shukri, the Ministry of Internal Security spokesperson told media that the operation was aimed at enhancing security and ensuring peace prevail as the country gears up the elections in which Al-Shabaab is believed want to interrupt.
Shukri revealed that security operations were also carried out at several nighbourhoods in Howlwadag and Wardhigley districts.
AMISOM and SNA troops often conduct such security operations against the militant group which has been fighting to topple the government.
