Several al Shabaab militants have been killed in Banaadir district of Somalia after a group of armed al Shabaab fighters attempted to overrun an army base. The militants had come to the town to loot livestock from the local livestock market when they storm the base to replenish their weaponry.
The local security officers mounted a major defense engaging the gunmen in a few hours of fierce gunfire that left several militants dead and others wounded.
Al Shabaab has been looting and threatening residents in the region in a bid to get supplies seeing as their supplies network has been decimated in most areas of Somalia by SNA and allied AMISOM troops.
