Somali security forces successfully confiscated a number of weapons and drug illicit in a covet intelligence-led operation conducted in Wadajir district of Mogadishu.
Security forces drawn from the army and police conducted the operation at night in parts of the district targeting several houses.
According to Wadajir district commissioner, Omar Abdullahi Hassan, the forces apprehended unspecified number of criminal suspects during the operation.
“The operation was intended to hunt down illicit drugs and muggers. The forces confiscated illicit liquors, two AK47 riffles and two pistols. Several people also detained,” said Hassan.
The commissioner pointed out that the suspects would be arraigned in court after the police conclude investigations warnings that individuals selling and use drug saying that the arm of the government will catch up with them.
