Security in Mombasa has been heightened ahead of festivities scheduled to take place in August notably an annual international cultural festival which kicks off today (Thursday 18th August 2016) and later on the Agricultural show at the end of the month.
Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has called on Mombasa residents to cooperative security authorities to ensure adequate security at all time.
Marwa encouraged both residents and visitors of the region to report cases of insecurity to the nearest authorities without fear.
Marwa speaking at his office on Wednesday asked parents to take full responsibility of their children saying anyone who will break the law with be dealt with by security personnel.
The Coastal Regional Coordinator also warned criminal elements such Wakali Wao and Wakali Kwanza saying they disarm themselves failure to which crackdown on them will continue.
Marwa met leaders from Kisauni and asked them to work together with the security personnel to tame rowdy youths.
International tourists and local visitors have started flooding into Mombasa.
