Rwandan President Paul Kagame Announces 2017 Bid To Run For a Third Term

1^st January 2016, latest news from Rwanda reveal that Rwanda’s Kagame will be running for another term in 2017.

Kagame who is now the sitting president of Rwanda announced his third bid to run for the highest office in 2017 in line with constitution amendment which was voted overwhelmingly in past recent referendum.

“You have asked me to lead the country after 2017. Given the importance you ascribe to this matter, I can only accept,” Kagame was quoted saying during a televised address at midnight (2200 GMT) as the nation welcomed in the New Year.
