Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited military barracks in Kismayo and also met with military generals.
President Hassan visit was aimed to integrate the Somali National Army and Jubbaland forces to be nationalized.
President Hassan also toured many army barracks outside the seaport city which are also on the frontline defenses against the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab attacks.
“Our first priority is to integrate the army and build strong national army, this training and the pledge you made today has sealed your place in the national army, remember you are not tribal militia, you are the sons of this nation” President Hassan was quoted saying.
Under the army integration programme, Jubbaland will contribute three thousand (3,000) soldiers to be incorporated in the already existing National Army (SNA).
Other regional states as well will contribute their soldiers to be incorporated in SNA which is mainly based in the federal government controlled areas.
