Anti-terror Police (ATPU) on Saturday 12/5/2018 arrested a suspected terror operative in connection with a terror attack on a quarry in Mandera on May 3.
The terror operative identified as Adan Mohammed Samow was arrested in El Wak with police stating that “the hunt” for his accomplices was course.
Samow is suspected to be among the terror operatives that targeted a quarry in Mandera, where four persons not native to the area were killed.
Quarries in Mandera have proven soft targets for the Somali based Al-Qaeda(AQ) branch, Al-Shabaab. On 2, December 2014, Al-Shabaab massacred 36 quarry workers in the same county of Mandera.
