Two Police Officers Killed in Pangani Blast by Al-Shabaab Terrorists, just a walking distance from the Eastleigh area which is a hideout for terrorists.
Strategic Intelligence Reports the Pangani Blast as a suicide mission by terrorists
Two police officers were killed when a car they were escorting to Pangani police station exploded.
The vehicle with two occupants had been intercepted in a roadblock by police officers.
Two of the officers manning the roadblock got into the vehicle and escorted the vehicle to the Pangani police station where it was detonated.
Al-Shabaab militants have used the car bomb strategy in Somalia and have not tried in the country so far.
This week, the terrorist killed a Somali member of parliament by attaching a bomb on his car and detonated it when it was leaving a parking lot in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
A second explosive inside the vehicle was safely detonated by bomb experts.
Two occupants of Somali origin who were driving the vehicle may have been on a suicide mission.
They detonated vehicle just inside the Pangani police station, a police source has confirmed.
The Pangani Police Station blast is a rare terror strategy by these terrorists and we should step up all efforts to per-empt these threats.
There had been warning early this week that terrorists would attack the country in retaliation.
Strategic Intelligence had warned of attacks while security analysts privy to videos circulated online by terrorists had warned that these threats should not be ignored.
