Security officers in Beledweyne, Hiiraan region have recovered a large cache of weapons and bomb-making materials in operation targeting the al Shabaab in the area. During the operation, the forces nabbed at least ten al Shabaab operatives in Buundoweyne village.
The remote village of the are have seen a spike in the number of al Shabaab who have been fleeing major towns and as such the operation is expected to continue until the area and other places have been cleared and terror elements captured.
Hence the operation will carry on in the coming weeks and as such residents in Hiiraan have been urged to offer any and all information that could lead to the arrest of the militants and their sympathizers.
