The Nigerian Air is set to take delivery of its first three JF-17 Thunder multirole fighter jets on or before November 2020.
Nigerian Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar confirmed of this acquisition by the Air Force during the graduation ceremony of 2,079 new recruits to boost internal air force operations.
Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar called on the new airmen and airwomen to conduct their duties within the Rules of Engagement as outlined in the Code of Conduct for the AFN personnel.
The recruits to undergo rigorous training designed to expose them to near real-life scenarios of what they are expected when deployed for operations.
NAF is in the process of acquiring the JF-17 Thunder aircraft and the Super Tucano (A-29) light attack aircraft. The JF-17 fighter are expected to arrive in Nigeria in November 2020, while the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft were expected to be inducted into Service by the Year 2022.
