Nigerian military sources have confirmed that troops of 121 Task Force Battalion, Pulka have killed 20 Boko Haram terrorists in the Bama, Gwoza axis of Borno state.
The sources reveal that Boko Haram terrorists staged an ambush attack on a military escort between Gwoza and Maiduguri and about 5 kilometers to Bama town prompting an intensive gun battle.
The terrorists reportedly detonated Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs), followed by sporadic gunshots which were however; repelled by soldiers.
The repulsion saw six soldiers sustain various degrees of injuries and 20 terrorists killed in the clash. Several other terrorists also fled some with gun wounds, reports further added.
Northeastern region, Borno State continue to battle with Boko Haram insurgency over the years with terrorists’ activities spilling over to the neighboring countries including Cameroon.
