The national government issued Lamu County with additional Land Cruiser vehicles in an effort to boost war on crime in a wake of addressing insecurity challenges in the county.
The additional police vehicle will ease security forces mobility in their work more so during patrols and in responding to crime calls.
Speaking during the unveiling of the vehicles to the public in Mokowe town, Lamu County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri revealed that more police vehicles expected to be delivered before next month.
Two modern boats have also been purchased in an effort to boost the work of Marine Police officer in the County, Kanyiri added.
Kanyiri thanked the national government, emphasized it was keen to ensure comfortable working conditions for administrators in order to ensure for proper service delivery to the public.
The national government last year August awarded a total of 42 motorcycles to chiefs in Lamu in order to ease their operations.
