Sentenced to death for killing Muslim

Friday 15th April 2016, a man was sentenced to death by the High Court in Mombasa for his involvement in killing moderate Muslim cleric Sheikh Mohamed Idris in 2014.
Mohamed Sudi Said who go with alias Mohamed Hussein or alias Abu Osman received death sentence by of Judges of High Court Mombasa.
Said was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt for murdering the former chairman of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya on 10th June 2014, at Manyatta in Likoni.
Sheikh Mohamed Idris was a vocal opponent of extreme radical preaching and teaching.
According to police report, Idris was short once in the stomach shortly before dawn, when he was headed to prayers at a mosque.
The gunmen who shot him were on a motorcycle, the report adds.
