Kenya has told the UNHCR to close the Dadaab refugee camp and relocate the refugees elsewhere.
Nairobi wants to repatriate all Somali refugees who currently reside in Dadaab.
The refugee camp is now the biggest terrorists logistics center besides breeding ground.
The refugee camp will be located in Somalia where a UN-Task force can protect it and offer relief services to the refugees.
Kenya seeks to secure itself from increasing terrorism and closure of Dadaab is one such step towards security.
According to Deputy President Ruto, UNHCR has been ordered to relocate the refugees from Dadaab camp in three months to a location inside Somalia.
Dadaab houses over half a million Somali’s.
Members of families in Dadaab have joined the terror group Al-Shabaab. They use the refugee identities to cross the border and engage in terrorism in Somalia then import the terrorism back to Kenya.
Lawmakers in Nairobi view this as abuse of Kenya’s hospitality.
