Kenya Commando Insertion-Operation Capture’s Mandera Chief Kidnappers, 12 Al-Shabaab Captured 9 Killed in Ops

Following the kidnapping of the Arabiya chief in Mandera County, the Republic of Kenya deployed its special forces in a counter-terrorism operation.

During the operation, Special Forces using helicopters were inserted into theater, 9 Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed and 12 other have been captured alive.Y.12-II-Panda-KAF-136-5-10-10

Al-Shabaab on the morning of Thursday 23rd of April 2015 conducted a terror attack targeting chief Muktar Ibrahim of Arabia division of Mandera County.

After kidnapping the chief, the terrorists killed him near the border with Somalia.

Commando’s selected from the Kenya Defense Forces Special Forces, supported by National Security Intelligence units conducted insertion missions in an target used as a base by the 21-man terror gang.

The Al-Shabaab  terrorist attempted to counter the special forces and 9 of them were killed by Special Warfare Combatants, who are highly trained and solely relied on in such dangerous missions.

The terrorists base was destroyed and one vehicle was captured. 12 terrorists were captured and are being debriefed by a joint Security Intelligence teams from the Directorate of Military Intelligence and the National Intelligence Service at a classified military facility in the Kenyan North East.

The Republic of Kenya has vowed to pursue the terror group Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen across the region.

Special units to combat terrorism have been formed, retrained, and heavily armed besides well equipped to counter the threat posed by terrorists in the country.

Kenya Special Forces Commandos also utilize army helicopters and Air Force Special Operations aircraft when they need to clandestinely infiltrate and ex-filtrate target areas by airdrop or air-land.

The Kenya Special Forces are an exceptionally lethal and feared force in Africa.  Al-Shabaab claim the KDF SF  is an enemy they never knows from where they strike next
