Italy’s Leonardo and Qatar finalized a deal for Qatar’s acquisition of 28 NH90 medium multirole military helicopters.
The deal was announced on August 24 by Leonardo will see the company supply medium, twin-engine multirole military helicopters to the Ministry of Defense of Qatar, valued at more than €3 billion.
The order will be split into two. One order will see Qatar receive sixteen NH90-TTHs (Troop Transport Helicopter) and the other order of twelve NH90-NFHs (Navy Frigate Helicopter). Deliveries scheduled to start from the 2019-2020-time frame.
The NH90 heavy-class military helicopter is a modern, multi-role aircraft designed to meet the most stringent NATO standards.
It is developed in two versions – tactical troop transport (TTH) and NATO frigate helicopter (NFH).
The NH90 military helicopter contains a unique, fully integrated mission system for operations in the most demanding conditions over land and sea, day and night.
