Iraqi police arrested Islamic State military commander in the eastern side of Mosul that was the capital of Islamic State and base of Operations in Iraq.
Using intelligence tips from officers on the ground, Taha Mohamed Salama, an Islamic State member who was in charge of the group’s mortar launchers.
The arrested militant had an arrest warrant previously issued for him.
In December 2017, Iraqi declared victory over Islamic State Militants after a three year campaign against the group to retake terrirtories previously occupied.
