Francis Macharia, a suspected member of Al-Shabaab terror group has been charged in a Nairobi court with conspiracy to attack Milimani Law Courts among other government buildings.
He appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Ms Hellen Onkwani on Tuesday and denied three counts of conspiracy to commit a terrorist act and supporting a terrorist group by forging national identity cards.
The suspect was further accused of planting explosives in a motor vehicle thus making it an vehicle borne improvised explosive device.
The accused was arrested in Kayole two days after police placed a bounty on his head for ksh1M.
Mr Macharia’s request for bond was denied on grounds that he may be a flight risk who would interfere with the arrest of others who are on the run.
The case will be heard next on May 31,2018.
