Police in Italy have arrested a terror suspect with links to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (Daesh). The 38-year-old Palestinian man is believed to have been planning a chemical attack.
According to intelligence, the terror suspect is believed to have been planning to poison the city’s public drinking water supply. The suspect, who had a Palestinian passport and a proper work permit, was a street vendor who never stated he was a follower of the jihadist movement.
According to the police the terror plot was accidentally uncovered by a neighbor of the suspect who reported to the police. Preliminary reports indicate that he meant to use rat poison for the assault, however, the Italian authorities have yet to confirm this information.
