Al Shabaab terror organization has claimed responsibility for the assassination of Somali Security & Intelligence Officers in two different locations in Mogadishu. The jihadist claimed responsibility for the killings through their propaganda media outlet.
One of the officers was assassinated in Drakinli District while the other attack was conducted on Somali Security & Intelligence Barracks in the Haru District of Mogadishu.
In recent weeks the ISIS-affiliated faction of the al Shabaab has stepped up assassination and targeted attacks on security forces and intelligence officers in Somalia. The IS faction in Mogadishu has increased its presence, especially in the capital as it seeks legitimacy from its parent organization based in Iraq and Syria in the Middle East.
