Tuesday 26th July 2016, a heavy explosion has been heard near Mogadishu’s Adan Adde Airport.
Al-Shabaab continues to be humiliated in the hands of SNA and AMISOM frequently attempts to attack foreign, government and army bases has suffered yet another defeat in a failed suicide mission.
According to reports on Somalia media, the two suicide attackers set off bombs outside the African Union's main peacekeeping base (Halane). The first suicide bomber reportedly detonated a car bomb and the second tried to storm the base on foot, but was shot by the AU officers and exploded at the gate.
Security forces cordoned off the area.
Separately, in El-Adde CT-Ops, 78 Al-Shabaab terrorists were reportedly killed in overnight airstrikes originating From Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) battling the militants under AMISOM.
