A group of ten Kenyan police officers newly deployed in Somalia as Individual Police Officers (IPOs) have completed one week of induction course aimed at enlightening them on AMISOM’s mandate in Somalia.
The Kenyan officers have been undergoing through the induction course in Mogadishu for the past one week to orient themselves with Mission’s objectives.
Speaking at the end of the course on Sunday 24th July 2016, AMISOM Police Chief of Staff, Rex Dundun, who represented the AMISOM Police Commissioner called on the officers to prepare for the task ahead, especially the forthcoming elections.
The new Kenyan Contingent Commander Superintendent of Police (SP) Rachael Munge Kironji assured AMISOM of their selfless commitment to achieve AMISOM’s mandate.
Kenya is among the countries contributing its police in AMISOM. Other police contributing countries are Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
