Intelligence gathered from Puntland shows that Africa Oil and Horn Petroleum might face legal hurdles in Puntland over the Dharoor Block license.
Amsas Consulting, a company that advises oil explorers about the region confirms that Italian oil exploration company Eni also owns the license Horn and Africa Oil have on the Dharoor Block.
Canadian firm Horn Petroleum and Vancouver-listed Africa Oil Corp started drilling Dharoor Block, which is located northeast of Puntland in March 2012 and are expected to make announcements in May 15th.
Intelligence shows that state-controlled Italian explorer Eni still has legal rights to Dharoor Block, for they were issued a license by the Somali government in the 1980s to explore.
