Germany is pondering a new air missile defense system. Germany has been considering Lockheed Martin’s Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS).
Germany uses the Patriot system with an expandable system which uses the hit-to-kill PAC-3 MSE Missile to intercept tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and aircraft, providing full 360-degree engagement.
Germany tested the platform in November. The missile defence system can perform a dual intercept against a ballistic missile.
