Sunday 2/4/2017 marked two year-anniversary since the Islamist terrorist group attacked Garissa University College killing 148, most of them being students.
Four Al-Shabaab terrorists stormed the University before dawn and shot indiscriminately at the students and security personnel.
Within an hour of the 5am attack, the militants had killed about 100 people. The terror mastermind of the Garissa University College Attack, Mohamed Kuno Gamadheere was later killed in a KDF operation in Somalia.
In commemoration of the heinous attack, the institution and local community took part in a five-kilometer marathon.
The event was under tight security. Armed security officers manned the University and its vicinity where more than 200 athletes took part in the event.

Security organs including the National Police service, Regular Police, General Service Unit, Kenya Defence Forces and National Intelligence Service are working together in fight against terror.
