13th October 2015, Breaking reports indicate that Galmudug forces have recaptured Amara from the reign Al Shabaab militants.
The newly formed forces of the Interim administration of Galmudug managed to battle out Al Shabaab fighters taking full control of Amara village located in the southern Mudug region.
Dozens of Al Shabaab militants have been killed from the heavy fighting. Report indicates that several Al Shabaab fighters fled after they were overpowered by Galmudug state forces.
Amara village has been under the reign of Al Shabaab militants nearly for two week after the Al Qaeda affiliated branch captured it from Galmududg troops.
