Col. Mo’alin Guhad, the senior army officer in Bardere confirmed the assassination of ex-Al Shabaab militant commander who had been working with the SNA against the militants since his defection.
Hariye Ali has been credited for the recent capture of Bardere city from the al Shabaab militants exploiting his prior knowledge of their hide outs and operations.
The assassinated leader was among the high-ranking al Shabaab commanders that took advantage of amnesty call by the Somali government in 2014-2015 among others like Al shabaab Amniyaat chief Zakariye Ismail Ahmed Hirsi.
