Militant and terrorist group Al-Shabaab bases in Gedo in North Western Somalia have been overrun by Ethiopian Defense Forces.
Ethiopian military bombed Al-Shabaab positions and overrun their positions pushing the militants out of five key towns in the Gedo region of Somalia.
Ethiopian Defense Forces were integrated to the African peace keeping mission for Somalia AMISOM.
Ethiopia has intervened in Somalia severally.
Its integration to AMISOM is the third military entry to fight militants in the failed state.
Ethiopian forces are backed up by a pro government militia ASWJ and Somali National Army.
The EDF has mechanized battalions in Somalia and have entered key cities of the Galgaduud region.
