28th November 2015, Somalia’s autonomous state of Puntland combined at least 1,600 troops on its southern border with Galmudug state.
The border is the same that divides the regional capital city of Galkayo which of late has been faced with clashes between inter-clans.
The inter-clan violence began from 1993 though in 2011 there was peace agreement that ended the violence which in the last few weeks seems to have collapsed.
The military build-up has been prompted by weeks of unending clashes between the rival forces that began late on November 22.
The militiamen from Barahley, Wadajir locality of Galkayo in Galmudug began exchanging fire with Puntland security forces in the southern controlled part of the city.
The escalating inter-clans violence has left at least 10 people dead and more than 50 others injured. The violence has also seen others fled to other areas.
Puntland security forces are set to bring sanity and normalcy in the area to avoid risk of escalation into a civil war.
