Gunmen gunned down Captain Ashraf Badeer al-Qazaz an Egyptian intelligence officer in a desert road outside the capital Cairo.
Intelligence sources show that a police officer was killed along intelligence officer Captain Ashraf Badeer al-Qazaz.
The two were killed during a joint security operation in the outskirts of the city.
Egyptian Intelligence services were working on a joint operation with the central security directorate to monitor a rebel cell.
A vehicle with suspicious people was being monitored by the intelligence service and the central security force and the joint task force was headed by the police officer and Egyptian intelligence officer Captain Ashraf Badeer al-Qazaz.
The two tried to stop the vehicle but were gunned down by the occupants.
