Military reports from Somalia confirms that the death toll in the Friday multiple bombings targeting Sahafi Hotel in Mogadishu has risen to 30.
Terror militants linked to Al-Shabaab detonated four bombs at hotel close to the busy KM4-KM5 stretch where Sahafi Hotel and CID headquarters are located opposite to each other.
Reports indicate that more than 2 dozens innocent Somalis were killed including the owner of the hotel that is frequented by security forces as well government staff.
The first bomb went off at about 4.27 pm followed by a second one about three minutes later and a third at about 4.45pm and fourth one went off some ten minutes later.
Four of the terror militants who had attempted to make way into the hotel were shot dead by security guards of the hotel and security forces from the CID headquarters.
The militants were dressed uniforms similar to those of Mogadishu Stabilisation Force, a small unit that was formed following the October 2017 Mogadishu truck bombing but later was disbanded.
